About Redfield Animal Shelter
Redfield Animal Shelter is an outdoor shelter with separate kennels and with houses that open out into the large play yard. The shelter is located at 1315 Wolfe Rd, Redfield, Arkansas. The shelter is currently unlisted on Google. The shelter has 9 kennels. Dogs are kept on a 10 day hold on intake pending reclamation by owner and then the city gives the employees and volunteers 90 days for the dogs to be moved out. This is extended in cases of special cases such as incarceration. The Redfield Friends of the Animal Rescue tries to move out dogs once the stray hold is up and the city gives them more time in case they are at capacity
The city has assigned a small budget to employee 1 part time ACO as well 2 maintenance workers. The kennels are cleaned daily by staff and the dogs are fed once a day by them. Volunteers come by daily to provide walks and mental stimulation. The city's budget in 2024 for the shelter was $10,000 which covers the cost of food for the dogs, maintenace , utilities and paid staff responsible for cleaning and feeding. Redfield Friends of the Animal Rescue helps with all medical bills such as spay and neuter, preventatives, heartworm treatment etc. The city leadership is extremely supportive of the shelter being animal lovers themselves
