About Redfield Animal Shelter
Redfield Animal Shelter is an outdoor shelter with 9 separate kennels and houses that open out into the large play yard. The shelter is located at 1315 Wolfe Rd, Redfield, Arkansas and is currently unlisted on Google. Dogs are kept on a 10 day hold on intake pending reclamation by owner, and then the city gives the employees and volunteers 90 days for the dogs to be adopted, tagged for rescue, or transported out of the shelter. The 90 days is extended if there is pending litigation around ownership of the dog. The Redfield Friends of the Animal Rescue (RFOAR) tries to move out dogs once the stray hold is up and the City is often able to grant additional time in case they are at capacity
The city has assigned a small budget to employ 1 part time ACO as well as 2 maintenance workers. The kennels are cleaned daily by staff and the dogs are fed once a day by them. Volunteers come by daily to provide walks and mental stimulation. The city's budget in 2024 for the shelter was $10,000 which covers the cost of food for the dogs, maintenace and utilities and paid staff are responsible for cleaning and feeding. RFOAR helps with all medical bills such as spay and neuter, preventatives, heartworm treatment etc through funding raised and donations. The City leadership many of whom are animal lovers themselves, do their best to support RFOAR as much as possible.
